If you are one of those people who judges a book by its cover (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?), you probably judge a house by its porch. Your porch says a lot about your home, it gives guests a glimpse of what is inside.

If your porch is dirty, messy, dark, and covered in dust, people might think the house behind it is abandoned. On the other hand, if your front porch is bright, cheerful, welcoming, and full of personality, it brings a smile to your home. Here are 15 decorations for your porch that make your home and your personality pop.

A welcome sign is a great place to start with porch décor. It’s classic ad beautiful and I especially love the bright colors, and the use of old fencing materials.

I love greenery of any kind on the porch. Small fir trees in the winter, big and beautiful planters in the spring and summer. These DIY planters allow you to use both hanging plants and perennials in one unit you can put anywhere.

This is another simple, but beautiful planter idea. I love that it provides a place to put a hanging plant of your favorite flowers without drilling a hook you’re your home.

A rocking chair is another beautiful porch element. There’s something about a rocking chair that brings you back to another time of simple days and iced tea in the evening.

Add a pop of color. The front door, a few throw pillows, planter boxes all can handle a little more spice. Pick your favorite shade and go big with color.

What a darling way to incorporate logs and add extra seating. Pull up a stump and stay a while.

We have all seen plenty of blanket ladders, but what about a planter ladder? This is a great way to add vertical height and a beautiful outdoor display to your porch.

Can you believe these planters are made from plain old rain gutters? Bright blue makes them stand out and simple materials makes them easy to put together and use year after year.

If you have funky light fixtures that don’t quite fit inside, consider painting them a bright color and adding them to your front porch.

Nothing works better on a front porch than a bench. It gives a relaxed feeling that invites friends to take a sat and stay a while.

Canvas art doesn’t have to stay inside. Particularly if you have a well-covered porch, consider adding a DIY art print.

Cool off those hot summer days and offer your guests a cool drink as soon as they show up. This drink station is by far one of my favorite ideas for summer porches.

For a little more privacy, consider outdoor drapes hung with traditional curtain rods. It adds a soft element to the outdoors and a nice separation for big spaces or shared porches.
